FMS 200: A NEW GENERATION IN THE ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTATION.

This is a new artificial horizon with solid state ultrafast gyroscopic sensors, immunity from radio interference, easy to employ and to manage: these are only some of the innovative characteristics.

Fms200 is an electronic instrumentation similar to the one of the General Aviation; not only for the color displays - widely tested, always visible in whichever condition of light or angle-shot - but also because in structural and  content terms has done a qualitative jump towards the electronic instrumentation of General Aviation.

The system instrumentation is totally new: the artificial horizon has a completely new sensor, equipped with three ultrafast electronic gyroscopes of latest generation (with a survey of 20 readings /second). It is mounted directly inside, which makes it faster and possible to read instantaneous speed regarding the movements of the machine. It has an extremely easy-to-read graphical representation  with pointer of Roll, pointer of Pitch, heading GPS, slip indicator, G-meter on the three axis, 3 altimeters, variometer and anemometer, all represented in only one screen.

Moreover, in motor instrumentation, there is a new graphic computer fuel. It calculates the necessary autonomy to fly the route.

It’s possible to use all the pre-installed probes of the motor; the Digifly system can be connected in parallel to the traditional instruments. A high level system of shielding protects instrumentation from radio interferences.

Another revolutionary innovation: the possibility to manage the instrument at home. You can visualise in 3D way your flights, elaborate data, load and download flights and all the other software operations at home.

In particular, fms200 has 2 USB Pen Drive doors that represent an absolute and substantial innovation. This offers two opportunities: record data-flight and Logger IGC directly. Doing that directly on USB Pen Drive, you can  extract it and link to a PC in order to download all the flight data just as you have a black-box.  In the second USB Pen Drive you can load up to 10 different navigation maps. Having loaded all necessary data its possible to view the landing field (photo) when approaching it.

The routes and IGC Logger are compatible with all the route visualization and management programs (such as CompeGPS, Leisures Explorer and Avioportolano).

These two absolute innovations allow a didactic use of fms200. Each student-pilot has his own USB Pen Drive in order to control him and his every phase of training.

This element concurs not only to a better quantitative and qualitative job of the instructors for the formation of the pilots, but also to control constantly the state of the airplane and how it is used.

This can be useful in case of multiproperty or in a rent.

The customisation of the USB Pen Drive implies that each machine recognizes only the owner’s USB Pen Drive so it can be used as burglar alarm of the plane.

Each software upgrade is managed directly on the USB Pen Drive, that you will insert in your PC to load all the data and the information via Internet. When you insert the USB Pen Drive in the fms200 back, it will automatically upgrade the system.

All this is due to a constant and careful Digifly  research in this field. This research has revolutionized  production systems and has found new technological solutions able to reduce costs by nearly half, with respect to the previous electronic systems.

So new fms200 is in the future at the half of the cost of the previous fms100.

In this way the  end user will be able to use electronic instrumentation more easily and this will equip his plane like one of general aviation. All this is more convenient than in the past.

THREE SCREENS FOR THREE FUNCTIONS
The strength of the system is the screen on the FMS100: a display that is 30% more information than it's predecessor while maintaining the same standard dimensions of 6.25". The brightness and visual angles are considerable, while weight and energy requirements are kept to a minimum. On this screen you can view three general functions that include all necessary data. It's also possible to mount three screens so as to have more data available simultaneously. Let's see now which functions can be seen on the three screens.

Hardware required

To start up GPS Moving Map function you must have a fms200 view-finder and a GPS receiver (optional)

Moving Map GPS screen

Through the acquisition of GPS data, fms200 Moving Map GPS manages a detailed electronic Map, to set destinations, to zoom on interesting areas, to record track made good and, mainly, to display navigation data calculated on the current destination (in form of distance, direction, ETA, etc.). Alternatively, you can view the map in full screen mode. This unit integrates several new functions, such as autopilot interface management.

The width complies with the aeronautical standard of 6,25 inches..

EFIS instruments screen (AIR DATA e AHRS)

New Digifly instruments represent a real revolution for visual flight: today it’s possible to keep all flight information with quality, precision and repetitiveness before now only reserved to higher class of aircraft.

Instruments is composed of: a big central easy to read artificial horizont, with roll and pitch indication; a slip indicator, represented by an easy to read rapid reaction ball; new sensors with 3 high-speed electrical gyroscopes of latest generation; a precise turn and bank time indicator (minutes and decimals); a GPS heading indicator, an acceleration indicator on three axis with a resolution of 1/100th G; three altimeters, anemometer and variometer both graphic and numeric.

All these elements combine, on one hand, to allow you to perfect your flight style making it cleaner and more accurate thanks to the wealth of information, while on the other increasing your safety margins thus allowing the pilot to have everything under control.

Making things even easier, an ease-of-use; to change from the Moving Map screen to the EFIS instruments screen and vice versa at the touch of a single button. The possibility of updating the software and hardware from the Internet, makes this unit consolidated and innovative.

Screen for engine instruments (EIS)

This screen shows all engine and fuel functions. A simple, easy to read  graphics – which looks like a traditional survey system – allows at a glance to check all engine data. While it’s very difficult to take and show these data with traditional instruments.

This data is always recorded along with other information in the system USB Pen Drive.
